Risteard Cooper

Risteárd Cooper is a uniquely gifted performer whose career seamlessly spans comedy, acting, writing, and mimicry. Well known as one-third of the comedy phenomenon Après Match, alongside Barry Murphy and Gary Cooke, he has delighted audiences for more than two decades with razor-sharp sketches, sell-out live shows, and chart-topping DVDs. Après Match’s incisive satire has made them a cornerstone of Irish comedy, with Risteárd’s wit and versatility at its heart.

Adding to his comedy credentials, Risteárd starred in his critically acclaimed one-man satire The State of Us on RTÉ and co-created the cult TV travel series Chasing the Lions. Rugby fans will recall Risteárd’s Rugger Thing , the popular online comedy series released in association with Off The Ball.

As an actor, Risteárd’s extensive stage career spans iconic roles such as Henry Higgins in Pygmalion at the Abbey Theatre and Joxer in Juno and the Paycock at the National Theatre, London. He has also appeared in productions including The Weir (Donmar Warehouse and West End) and Shipwreck (Almeida Theatre). On screen, his credits include Quiz, Delicious, No Offence, and the feature film Extra Ordinary. Most recently, Risteárd wrapped filming on feature film Fran the Man, further showcasing his dramatic range.

Renowned for his skill as a corporate entertainer and host, Risteárd brings a rare blend of wit, charm and precision to the stage. His comic instinct, tailored observations and assured presence ensure every event is bespoke and memorable. A graduate of Trinity College Dublin’s Samuel Beckett Centre, Risteárd introduces humour, intelligence and depth to every performance.
